Location - British Virgin Islands - BVI

If relaxation and tranquility are on your list of holiday priorities and you are looking for a getaway destination, then the British Virgin Islands are an ideal choice. There is no better way to witness the beauty and serenity of the islands than aboard a luxury Virgin Island charter yacht.

A natural choice
The Virgin Islands are home to some of the most exquisite beaches in the world. BVI sailing is one of the best ways to discover the great number of national parks, which showcase a range of plant, animal and bird life indigenous to the Caribbean. The Virgin Islands are also very culturally diverse, as well as ethnically rich, a result of the vivid history of the Caribbean. To this, add the sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, which are not the only attributes that make the area visually appealing. The islands themselves are tall, volcanic landmasses that add a surreal atmosphere to the already magical boat charter experience. Combined with the natural vibrancy of the islands, it makes an ideal destination for a yacht charter vacation.

Climate
The Virgin Islands enjoy a sub-tropical climate, which makes them perfect for sailing almost all year round. In the summer months, temperatures ranges from 24-32°C and 21-29°C in the winter months. The best sailing conditions are during the driest months of February to April.

Selecting your luxury charters
Choosing a Caribbean charter with Sunreef Yacht Charters presents you with an advantageous choice. A crewed charter is best for those wishing to soak up the island sun and beauty while an experienced crew takes care of the practical aspect of a sailing charter, as well as gives advice pertaining to the trip itinerary. A bareboat charter is the option for those who prefer manning the wheel and discovering the Virgin Islands on their own.

You also have a choice as to the type of sailing vessel that will take you on your boat charter: all the tranquil luxury you can wish for is found on a Mega Yacht charter harter :rovide andor Power Boat charter, while a luxury charter catamaran or charter yacht allows for a more sportive sailing experience with proximity to the water and wind in the sails.

Planning your itinerary
There are several destinations not to miss on your BVI charter. Among the roughly fifty islands and cays comprising the BVI, several have distinguished themselves as main destinations.

Beef Island is the location of the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport, which serves the BVI, and so is often the first place on your itinerary. Its small town of Trellis Bay is a quaint spot for a tasty meal or some shopping. Just east of Beef Island lies Tortola, the largest island in the archipelago. It is easy to visit, as the Queen Elizabeth Bridge connects the two islands. Among the attractions Tortola offers, you can find white-sand beaches, Cane Garden Bay and Apple Bay, as well as surfing. You can also visit Road Town, the capital of the BVI and one of the principal centers for bareboating.

The second-largest Virgin Island is the unique Anegada. Unlike the other mountainous islands in the archipelago, Anegada, formed of coral and limestone, is flat and low. The natural beauty and rich fauna of the island is its main attraction and makes the difficult navigation worth the while. Part of Anegada is the 18-mile long Horseshoe Reef, the largest in the Caribbean.

One thing to see on the Virgin Gorda are the ruins, the most popular of which is the beam engine in an old copper mine. But the island is best know for the unusual geologic formation of granite boulders known as “The Baths.” Water flows over the scenic grottoes and out into the open sea.

Peter Island is a private island open to guests for hiking and biking trails. These activities are all attractive as the island is mostly undeveloped, allowing the local flora and fauna to flourish. The Honeymoon and White Bay beaches provide an excellent spot to rest.
