John and Sharon, known by their friends as Joc and Shaz, take great pleasure in welcoming you aboard "DAMRAK II". A down under couple; Joc is from Auckland, New Zealand and Shaz from Perth, Western Australia; both world renowned water sport cities and America's Cup holders. Together, for over 20 years they have pursued their love of outdoor sports, both on and off the water, with enthusiasm for traveling and meeting people.
Joc, with a sense of humor for all occasions, traveled Australia playing rugby until he arrived in Perth and met Shaz, a State Rep field hockey player. After both attending university in Perth, they moved to New Zealand in 1991 where their passion for sailing and a life on the water went wild. Starting in Auckland with careers in Accounting (for Joc) and Strategic Planning (for Shaz), they decided to leave the corporate world behind, for cruising New Zealand and the South Pacific. Here they developed a love for snorkeling and diving in remote locations.
Both qualified ocean Captains: Joc has a 200T Captain's license and Shaz a NZ Bluewater Yachtmaster; they moved to the Caribbean in 2003 to embark on yet another new adventure in this "up over" part of the world, travelling throughout the Caribbean and Mediterranean. They have experienced some of the best of life on and under the water. They have raced yachts, owned and operated their own yacht charter business, and have worked on luxury power and sail vessels throughout the world at amazing events including 2 America's Cup events. After working on an 86ft luxury powercat superyacht in New Zealand and the South Pacific, they know "DAMRAK II" will be a first class experience offering all the enjoyment and comfort powercats offer.
Cruising with Joc and Shaz is relaxed and fun. They work together as a team, sharing the stories and experiences from their travels, each adding their own talents to make your time aboard special. Joc, a certified Padi Instructor is eager to share his knowledge of the sea and his enthusiasm for scuba diving as well as all watersports, with his guests. Joc's skills and qualifications are impressive; and well complimented by the fabulous culinary delights created by Shaz, who is also a Padi Divemaster. An accomplished chef, Shaz uses local ingredients to masterfully create an international menu reflecting their travels throughout the world, including a gourmet cooking course in the Loire Valley, France. She has a passion for creating mouthwatering, beautiful and healthy meals; a feast for your senses. |

Hostessa: Roxana Pecete
Roxana comes from the Black Sea in Romania, providing DAMRAK II with a truly cosmopolitan crew combining Eastern Europe with down under. Growing up in her grandmother's country house, Roxana has a love of the outdoors and a holistic way of life; and celebrated her family's wine harvests with traditional grape stomping.
While studying Journalism at University, Roxana worked as an event hostess in the hospitality industry and found she loved working with people. After working as a journalist in Romania she decided it was time for a new adventure and ventured to the Western Med, where she started a career in yachting. After working several seasons on luxury sailing yachts, traveling the Med and Caribbean, Roxana is an accomplished passage maker and stewardess.
A passion for literature and traveling led her to discover her talent with new languages, where she is now fluent in English and Spanish and able to communicate in Italian and French.
Roxana is excited to be aboard DAMRAK II and looks forward to welcoming you aboard. |
