Moonen Shipyard’s New 100′ Explorer: Fuel Efficiency and Transoceanic Capability Without Sacrifice to Luxury

Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands has started outfitting the all-new Moonen 100 Explorer, developed together with Vripack Naval Architects. This will be the fourth expedition yacht built by Moonen following  the 90’ Commercial Break, 92’ Poseidon and the award-winning 114’ My Issue. Moonen Shipyards is also currently building the fully custom 42-meter Sofia III (complete with three-man sub) and a new high-speed 82 Alu.

The Moonen 100 Explorer features exceptionally smooth lines; major fuel efficiencies and superior live aboard facilities. The yacht is being constructed for owners who are very involved in the build process and eager to navigate the world’s oceans following the launch that is scheduled for the spring of 2013.

Explorer Series Hull Number Four

“Over the past five decades, we have built up an impressive fleet of motoryachts that share an irreplaceable Moonen quality,” says managing director Emile Bilterijst. “The fact that we are able to offer entirely distinctive types of motoryachts such as explorer, high-speed, displacement and fully custom built– is exceptional in today’s market. And the way we create these superyachts for such a diverse group of owners in terms of nationality, age and sailing experience further reinforces our ability to offer premium Dutch quality at genuinely competitive prices.”

Moonen yachts are available in lengths between 65 and 150 feet (20 to 45 meters).
