Heesen Yachts Luxury 144ft Superyacht LADY L Launched From Shipyard

Heesen Yachts announces the launch of YN 15944, formerly Project Zentric, from their facility in Oss, the Netherlands. The Owner has christened her MY Lady L. This vessel is the eighth in the successful 44 meter, all-aluminum, semi-custom class. YN 15944 was begun as an “on stock project” by the shipyard, which commenced the build prior to securing the signed contract in 2011.

Last November the deal was closed for YN 15944, which was delivered just two months later. Building in aluminum to enormously demanding tolerances, the Heesen hull-form is designed to optimize the way a yacht moves through the water. MY Lady L reaches the remarkable speed of 25 knots, making her one of the fastest yachts of her size on the market.  Twin MTU 2.720kW engines combined weight reduction and an ultra-efficient hull make the speed possible.

Using the experience gained from constructing previous 44 meter aluminum yachts, Heesen has designed MY Lady L to fully maximize the amount of deck space available resulting in even greater levels of luxury. Guests will likely spend most of their time at sea on the expansive 45 square meter sun deck. They’ll also enjoy the main and upper aft decks as the perfect locations for alfresco dining or just lounging in the shade; while the seating area on the foredeck is ideal for catching the breeze when at anchor, or for privacy when docked stern-to in the harbor.

Frank Laupman from Omega Architects designed the timelessly refined interiors where pale woods and precious fabrics accentuate light and space. The sleek, classic Deco design keeps living areas elegant and clutter-free. The main saloon is split into three distinct spaces within the open-plan layout. In addition to the main sofas and dining areas, there is an intimate semicircular seating area adjacent to the huge curved sliding glass doors. The sky lounge has been designed to provide several different entertaining and relaxation spaces. Deep sofas line both sides of the room, while an aft circular arrangement of stools and table creates a laid-back atmosphere.

Ten guests can be accommodated in five cabins. The full-beam master suite is situated on the main deck and includes a study and full-beam his-and-hers marble bathroom. Two double and two twin cabins, all with ensuite marble bathrooms, are located on the lower deck.

Heesen Yachts’ Project Ventura: 50m All-Aluminum Superyacht Scheduled for 2013 Delivery

Dutch superyacht builder Heesen has a signed contract for YN 16050, now known as Project Ventura, which boasts a projected top speed of 23 knots making her one of the world’s fastest semi-displacement 50 meter yachts as well as one of the most efficient on the market. In consultation with Van Oossanen Associates, Heesen’s in-house naval architects created a sophisticated and highly efficient hard-chine hull. When combined with Heesen’s acknowledged weight reduction expertise and a pair of high power-to-weight ratio MTU 2.720kW engines, Project Ventura is able to deliver her excellent top speed as well as a very economical fuel burn and a particularly long range of 3.200Nm at 12 knots.

Streamlined exterior styling is by Frank Laupman from Omega Architects and acclaimed Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski and the Owner are responsible for the stunning interiors. Their contemporary vision is chic yet minimal, based on just two woods of contrasting color and texture: richly patterned polished ebony for parquet floors and furniture surfaces, and whitened oak for the paneling. A key feature of Project Ventura is the attention paid to integrating controlled ambient lighting. Every area of the yacht can easily be adapted to suit the mood and atmosphere of the moment.

Project Ventura sleeps twelve guests in six staterooms (with an additional cabin for the Owners’ private staff.) There are in fact two master staterooms: the first with a spectacular circular bedroom leading directly outside on the upper deck; the other full-beam on the main deck that features a private study. A full-beam VIP suite, two double and one twin guest cabins are situated on the lower deck together with the twin staff cabin. All staterooms are designed with stately ebony floorboards, white oak paneling, and exceptional amounts of space, considerable storage and large wardrobes concealed within the design scheme.

The delivery of YN 16050, Project Ventura, is scheduled for spring 2013 after intensive sea trials in the North Sea.
