Blubay 100′ ALLURES Luxury Sailing Catamaran: Performance, Polish and Panache

ALLURES is a performance sailing catamaran, perfect for charter in the enchanting French Riviera, Corsica and Sardinia. This cutting-edge, custom build was created by a passionate owner demanding high performance capability and maximum live aboard comfort. Built by the French company Compositeworks, ALLURES features four exceedingly spacious cabins and vast deck and social areas for unparalleled live aboard comfort.

This impressive build is one of the largest and fastest all-carbon catamarans in the world, and at 100′ one of only a few existing mega catamarans. Twin hull construction using high tech, lightweight materials allow this high performance sailing yacht to double as the ultimate luxury sailing yacht, the goal of the owner’s design brief. A shallow draft is ideal for reaching the secluded anchorages and smaller islands and inlets that characterize the region. The yacht is equipped with two Cummins QSB5.9 355cv engines and two Onan 22.5 Kw gernerators for power and comfort.

ALLURES features contemporary, chic interiors in leather, mahogany and fig tree woods with modern lines and an earthy organic color palette that creates a warm, sophisticated atmosphere. Styling and interior design were defined by the owner’s wife, an interior designer whose mandate required the infusion of a modern aesthetic within a traditional context.

ALLURES is simple to sail, so although this sporty catamaran can reach a maximum speed of 16 knots under power, she is rarely seen offshore when not under sail. Fully retractable daggerboards allow access to very shallow shoreline depths, hidden bays and secluded beaches, while providing the ultimate in safety and performance. Whether the client’s itinerary is town hopping or beach bumming, ALLURES transports charter guests with performance and panache.

ALLURES is a stylish yacht, elegant, refined, well known and highly popular on the Mediterranean charter circuit. Reaching maximum speeds as fast as 27 knots, ALLURES is as perfectly suited for Mediterranean fast cruising between the trendy towns of the French Riviera, or exploring ports of call in Corsica and Sardinia, as she ideal for social soirees or corporate entertaining at the dock.

7-Day Luxury Charter Yacht Itinerary in the Dazzling and Dramatic French Riviera

Nice waterfront

The French Riviera, also known as the Côte d’Azur, is internationally famous as one of the most prestigious yachting destinations in the world. Experienced charter guests know that nothing in the world can compare to the breathtaking scenery and splendid shore excursions that comprise a luxury yacht charter through the French Riviera. From the beaches and clubs of St. Tropez to the Festivals and famous Croisette promenade of Cannes, to the Le Grand Casino and Luxury Yachts of Monaco, the French Riviera beckons with infinite allure.

Day 1: Nice

Arrive at the Nice Cote d’Azur airport, transfer to your crewed charter yacht to settle in and refresh before an evening of exploration on shore. Nice is the second most popular tourist destination after Paris and the largest city in the French Riviera. The town changed hands many times, contributing to an architecturally and culturally rich heritage. Its strategic location and port gave the town great maritime strength throughout its history and today provides superb facilities for many magnificent megayachts.

Day 2: Saint-Tropez

St Tropez

This über chic town is well known today for its famous celebrities and extremely wealthy summertime guests. The playground of jet-setters, fashion models, and millionaires, it is renowned as the city where the iconic Bridgitte Bardot was discovered. Saint Tropez is considered a world capital of yachting and in the crowded harbor storied yachts are docked side by side throughout the summer season.

The trendy town is more than glorious sandy beaches and

The Old Port St. Tropez

magnificent boats. Down historic cobbled streets, concealed by rows of cafes and gift shops, are the boutiques of some of the world’s greatest fashion designers. In the history of modern art Saint-Tropez also plays a major role, as the location where Pointillism and Fauvism emerged, Saint-Tropez has served as inspiration to legendary painters as well as fine artists of today.

Each September yachting enthusiasts anticipate Les Voiles de St. Tropez, a world-famous regatta held at the end of the month. All types of sailing boats, from traditional to modern, compete with each other in this very popular, international event.

Day 3: Antibes, Juan les Pins

Located between Cannes and Nice, there are no less than 48 beaches along the 25 km of coastline that surround Antibes and Juan les Pins. For knowledge seekers, there are five museums, including the Absinthe Museum dedicated to appreciation of this infamous liqueur. Pablo Picasso spent six months here visiting a friend in 1946 and donated several works to the municipality, which are now housed in the Picasso Museum located in the restored Chateau Grimaldi.

Antibes Port

Antibes offers some excellent shopping in trendy boutiques, and in the old town a number of galleries with art for sale include paintings of local scenes. Close to the harbor is a covered market that offers a magnificent selection of meat, fish, cheese and vegetables. Gourmet restaurants feature French cuisine as well as local specials focusing on fresh seafood and produce from Provence. The Absinthe Bar La Balade provides a unique experience for those who dare to try this mysterious green liqueur, illegal in most places for its reputation to cause insanity.

In April, the annual Antibes Yacht Show is dedicated to the

Cannes Port Rotonde

brokerage and charter of larger yachts and in June, the Voiles d’Antibes is one of the world’s biggest gatherings of old teak and brass sailing vessels that converge on the port for one of the most regal regattas in the Mediterranean.

Day 4: Cannes

Enchanting nineteenth-century Cannes lives on in the splendid grand villas still inhabited to the present day. Built to reflect the wealth and standing of their owners, these architectural wonders were inspired by anything and everything, from medieval castles to Roman villas. In addition to palatial architecture, Cannes is famous for its luxury shops, restaurants and posh hotels. The city hosts the annual Cannes Film Festival, MIDEM, the foremost trade show for the music industry, MIPIM, the worlds largest property-related trade show, and MIPCOM and MIPTV, held in October and April respectively, the world’s most important trade markets for the television industry. In September, the Festival de la Plaisance is a popular event for yachting enthusiasts and is held in both the Vieux Port and the Port Pierre Canto. The prestigious show brings together key players in pleasure boating and international luxury yachting.

Villefranche Port

Day 5: Villefranche

Villefranche-sur-Mer adjoins the city of Nice to the east along Mont Boron, Mont Alban and Mont Vinaigrier, and lies about 6 miles south west of Monaco. The bay of Villefranche is one of the deepest natural harbors of any port in the Mediterranean Sea providing superb anchorage for megayachts. The historic port was created in 1295 by Charles d’Anjou.

Popular with writers such as Katherine Mansfield and Aldous Huxley, Villefranche continues as a haven for creative artists who occupy quaint little houses reached by narrow alleyways that climb the hillside. Two of the more recent celebrities who have bought villas in the area are Tina Turner and Bono.

This picturesque medieval setting of red tile roofs and narrow cobblestone streets has also been the backdrop to many movies including; Captain Horatio Hornblower, Adventures of Captain Fabian, To Catch a Thief , The Count of Monte Cristo, An Affair to Remember, The Madwoman of Chaillot, Never Say Never Again, The Jewel of the

Nile, The Bourne Identity, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and countless video clips and commercials.

Day 6: Monaco

The Principality of Monaco is a sovereign city state bordered by France on three sides and by the Mediterranean Sea. In 2011, Monaco maintained its status as the world’s most expensive real estate market, at $56,300 per square meter, with the highest rate of millionaires and billionaires per capita.

The architecture of the glamorous Belle Èpoque building and

Monte Carlo Casino

gardens of the Monte Carlo Casino have provided an inspired setting for several James Bond films and should not to be missed by visitors to the city. The beaux arts building was designed by the architect Charles Garnier, who also created the Paris Opera House.

Since 1911, Monaco has attracted crowds of spectators to the Monte Carlo Rally, and since 1955 to the Monte Carlo Grand Prix. The Monte Carlo Rally was originally held at the behest of Prince Albert I and is, like the principality’s Grand Prix, organized by the Automobile Club de Monaco. It has long been considered to be one of the toughest and most highly regarded events in rallying. The Formula One Monaco Grand Prix is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious automobile races in the world. Magnificent charter superyachts are available for both of these events and provide a superlative platform for spectators.

Day 7: Nice

Depart Monaco for a leisurely return trip to Nice. Visit the old town before transferring back to the Airport, or extend your trip by a day to further explore the town and environs. For visitors interested in archeology and history, one of the oldest human settlements in the

Nice at Night

world, Terra-Amata, is situated near Nice and dates from the Lower Paleolithic period. From the 2nd century AD, the splendor of Nice has attracted many famous painters and sculptors including Chagall and Matisse, and inspired many composers and intellectuals such as Berloz, Rossini and Nietzche. Spend a few hours at one or two the varied and numerous museums of all kinds, including a Naval Museum. Being a vacation resort town, Nice hosts many festivals throughout the year, so check to see what special events might be taking place during your stay.

2012 Palm Beach International Boat Show Review: More People, More Merchandise, More Superyachts

The 2012 Palm Beach International Boat Show is being hailed as a success and a sure sign of a general upswing in the economy. With increased traffic and positive sales results, it appears that people are poised to fully express their passions for yachting.

This year attendance was up at the show, which attracted more than 50,000 people. It covered more space than ever, thanks to the addition of 40 in-water slips at Palm Harbor Marina at the show’s north end.

More than $350 million worth of marine merchandise was on display, and the number of yachts with an LOA greater than 100 feet was up 35 percent from last year, distinguishing this show as one of the top in the country. Sunreef Yachts Charter experts toured many of the most distinguished charter yachts, including DIAMOND GIRL, PRIVATE LIVES, BLIND DATE, took copious notes, interviewed Captains and crews and sampled gourmet cuisine on board.

Although it is difficult to estimate exactly how lucrative the show will ultimately prove to be, many sales brokers claim pending sales and the rumor mill is hinting about the sale of

one megayacht considered to be a real gem. Serious charter inquiries from qualified clients, including well known celebrities spotted on the docks, indicate that the future of the marine industry looks very bright indeed.

Please visit Sunreef Yachts Charter Facebook page to view photo albums with additional descriptions of DIAMOND GIRL, PRIVATE LIVESBLIND DATE, GLAZE, FOUR ACES and MISS ROSE, some of our favorite and most popular charter yachts in the show.

Sunreef On Board Benetti Yachts 200′ Bejeweled Masterpiece, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, Owner John Staluppi’s latest, most technologically advanced and extravagantly decorated megayacht, was the must-see build for everyone attending the 2012 Palm Beach International Boat Show. DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER is an outstanding collaboration between John Staluppi, Benetti Yachts, and Evan K. Marshall. Her elegant aesthetics are a stunning interpretation of the exclusivity of luxury yachting, defined by graceful shapes, dynamic lines and a powerful presence.

The in-house technical department of Azimut-Benetti, responsible for naval architecture and engineering, used high-resistance steel for the hull and light weight aluminum alloy for the superstructure. The displacement hull features a bulbous bow and a longitudinal skeg running from amidships to the stern, facilitating the 200-foot yacht’s ability to travel at a remarkable maximum speed of 16 knots, with an oceanic range of 4,800 nautical miles at 12 knots.

The concept design and exterior styling of DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER was entrusted to Benetti FB Line’s brilliant Stefano Natucci, who imbued the vessel with the instantly recognizable modern classicism that is a trademark of Benetti motor yachts. Innovative features of this quad-deck design include a VIP master stateroom and an Owners’ master stateroom. The unusual fly bridge, located above the sun deck, creates a spectacular panoramic private Owner’s deck that can accommodate helicopter landings and takeoffs, and can only be reached via controlled access from the main staircase and the central elevator.

The interior design and decoration of DIAMONDS

Designer Evan Marshall

ARE FOREVER are the work of the extraordinarily talented Evan K. Marshall of Usonia V, responsible for the interiors of previous Staluppi superyachts including THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH. Marshall designed sumptuous interiors, including all loose furniture, for comfort and visual impact. Furnishings throughout that epitomize luxury and refinement are embedded with thousands of Swarovski crystals that successfully mimic glittering, prismatic diamonds.

Shimmering foyers on each deck house the central spiral staircase that winds around the cylindrical glass elevator. Each foyer sparkles with reflective glass, thematic works of art, striking combinations of marble and onyx floor inlays, and burl wall panels framed by gold and silver leaf inlays.

The main deck layout includes living and dining areas and the VIP apartment. On this and all deck levels, social spaces incorporate elegant pieces of loose furniture and commissioned works of art with design motifs inspired by the ship’s name. The furniture appears to be freestanding, supported only by slender legs embedded with delicate Swarovski crystals set in polished chrome and gold-plate. The VIP master suite features a split-level layout with large panoramic forward facing windows, his and hers walk-in dressing rooms, an exercise room with adjoining sauna and a beauty salon with massage table. These spaces are self contained and can be separated from the stateroom for use by other guests.

The lower deck layout includes one twin stateroom and three king-size staterooms, two of which have walk-in wardrobes. The materials for the staterooms include elegant Madrona burl woods, gold and silver leaf inlays, rare marbles and onyx, and custom colored and embossed leathers. Notable features include lavish ensuite facilities, commissioned works of art representing Neoclassical, Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods, faux stingray skin walls and trim, and silent air conditioning cleverly ventilated through crown molding.

On the upper deck of DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER is the spectacular sky lounge, featuring a unique automated indoor-outdoor dining area. With the flick of a switch electric doors convert the indoor space by opening the area to the aft cockpit, instantly creating an outdoor dining area. The full beam living area boasts a welcoming low bar, plush seating arrangement, a grand piano, game table and four televisions, (we are told Staluppi is a serious Nascar fan) that are concealed by original paintings embedded with Swarovski crystals. In each of the niched corners are four original sculptures inspired by the famous Quattro Fontane in Rome, that reveal John Staluppi’s passion for the sculptures of the artist Erté, renowned as a great master of Art Nouveau and Art Déco. They are reputed to be a very limited edition from the artist’s America Series quartet entitled “Liberty”, “Fearless and Free”, “Peace” and “Justice”, and produced using a bronze alloy casting technique.

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER is superb luxury yacht that meets the most demanding charter requirements; palatial amounts of space, the very best materials and technology, the highest levels of service, and the utmost privacy and security. She will be available for charter through the Mediterranean this spring.

Trinity 157ft. Luxury Charter Yacht COCKTAILS: An Intoxicating Superyacht from Bow to Stern

Sunreef Charter Experts were delighted to have the opportunity to tour COCKTAILS, a magnificent Trinity 157, while she was docked at Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale. COCKTAILS (EX Janie, Chevy Toy) launched from Trinity Shipyard in 2004, underwent an extensive refit in 2011, and emerges with a very stylish new look.

While the aesthetic is contemporary, the liberal use of white leather, fabrics, paneling and marble impart a classical Greek tone. The contrast of this alabaster palette with the liberal use of rich, dark woods makes a striking presentation.

Entering from the aft deck, the length of the main deck stretches forward in an uninterrupted majesty of space. Somewhere far forward in this open architectural layout is the formal dining arrangement. Although there is no physical separation between these two areas, the eye is pleasantly fooled.

Accommodations for 10 guests include a sumptuous king size master suite, two king size guest suites, one queen guest suite and a guest with two single beds and a Pullman. The master features a handsome dual bathroom with Jacuzzi tub designed with a Victorian traditionalism that extends throughout the suite.

The sky lounge on COCKTAILS is a casual social space with game table, state-of-the-art entertainment system, fully equipped bar and spectacular views through oversize windows. However, it is the alluring sundeck where guests will likely spend as much time as possible.

Forward, an arc of plush sun pads with some 40 throw pillows for back support surrounds the Jacuzzi, while aft lounge chairs near the marble top bar each have a side table perfectly positioned to hold a signature tropical cocktail with fresh fruit supporting a miniature paper umbrella, or a vodka martini.

On our visit, COCKTAILS highly acclaimed chef prepared a tantalizing array of seafood appetizers including shrimp, lobster, clams and oysters, prepared in various indescribably delicious ways, and so apropos for an evening on the water.
