Sunreef Yachts Charter experts went on board the eminently refined Grande Dame of megayachts, LADY LOLA, while she was poised in Fort Lauderdale for a brief respite before heading to the Bahamas. The tale of this much loved yacht begins with the build in 2002, contracted by Duane and Lola Hagadone, at the Dutch shipyard Oceanco. Conceived as a long range, highly private superyacht, award-winning LADY LOLA features naval architecture and exterior design by Oceanco and interiors by François Zuretti.
The abbreviated story of LADY LOLA is that she was sold by the Hagadones for a fine price in the middle of the decade, fortuitously prior to the tanking economy. She was on the market only a matter of days when a determined new Owner purchased the beloved yacht without a moment’s hesitation or negotiation.
Perhaps it was a small miracle, or an odd stroke of fate, that saw LADY LOLA up for sale for only the second time at the Monaco Boat Show in 2011. It just so happened that Mr. and Mrs. Hagadone were attending an important yet unrelated meeting in the same city. Surprised and delighted at the serendipitous timing of the show, they reviewed the beautiful megayachts lining the docks, and decided it was time to get back on board. But none could quite compare with LADY LOLA. And then they saw her majestically before them, and knew without hesitation, that this was destined to be a perfect family reunion.
